Meet the Appalachian! 👋🏼

Hello! My name is Garrett Robinson, and I’m an intern for #ReadAppalachia.

Where in Appalachia are you from?
Smack dab in the middle, in southern West Virginia!

What do you do? (Job, interests etc.)
I'm primarily a writer, which expresses itself in fiction, poetry, nature writing, and D&D.

What do you do for Read Appalachia?
In addition to reading and reviewing Appalachian books for our regular feed, I write personal articles about other subjects relevant to the field of Appalachian literature.

What do you like to read?
I love speculative fiction! Sci-fi and fantasy are my favorite, though I love a good community drama as well. I also love creative nonfiction, like the works of Annie Dillard and Madeleine L'Engle.

Do you have any pets?
I do! A small and perfect gray tabby cat named Tempest, who is much more often just called "kitty," "goo," "small!" or any of many corruptions and combinations of those terms.
